PICEA ABIES Virgata, USDA H3- v'hardy. Larger examples available too
A tall tree with central leader and chaotic snake-like random long branches that often become intertwining with age. Up to 1m growth pa. Originates since 1853. Laterals are sparse in the early decades, but with good growth on the few there are and the central leader. Will become much more busy with branches from @ 20-25yrs old....though if the open look is preferred some laterals can be pruned off
